Kevin Durant start the cannabis business there’s plenty of growth opportunities
Basketball player Kevin Durant has entered the cannabis business.
Spanish media Marca said Monday that Durant invested heavily in the cannabis sales business.
According to reports, “Thirty Five Ventures,” run by Kevin Durant, recently partnered with “Weedmaps,” a platform used to buy and sell cannabis.
Durant is said to have long been interested in the cannabis business. “The marijuana industry has a lot of growth opportunities,” he said in an interview. “I hope that the brand of use will be eliminated. “People seem to be getting closer to the use of cannabis,” he said.
Recently, world sports, entertainment celebrities and millionaires are showing interest in the cannabis business. Actors Gwyneth Paltrow, Whoopi Goldberg, soccer player David Beckham and former boxer Mike Tyson are also reportedly interested in the business.
Cowen, a U.S. investment bank, predicted that the cannabis market will surpass $70 billion by 2030. In California, where medical cannabis was first legalized, the cannabis market has grown to $20 billion over 25 years.
Currently, there are 35 U.S. states that allow cannabis for medical or preferential use.
