The game ended with a Cardinals victory (3-2). Hicks said after the game, “I feel good that I achieved the title I wanted tonight.”

Hicks was named 105th in the third round of the 2015 draft. He was called up to the majors in 2018 and drew attention with his fastball by throwing twice a sinker of 105 miles (about 168.9 km/h) in May that year. Since then, he has become the Cardinals’ “fireballer” with an average pitch speed of more than 100 miles
